CUET UG 2024, a common entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency is an examination mandated by the Ministry of Education that allows admission of students into various undergraduate programs all over the central universities in India.
The CUET UG 2024 which was to be conducted on the 15th of May has been officially postponed by the agency. In an official notice, the National Testing Agency announced that it will postpone the exams to the 29th of May. The reason as the agency stated was due to a shortage of manpower in the national capital.
In an official statement, “ It is being informed to all the concerned candidates and stakeholders that due to unavoidable reasons, the test papers (Chemistry -306, Biology – 304, English – 101, and General Test – 501) which were earlier scheduled on 15 May 2024 stand postponed for the candidates appearing in Centres across Delhi only. The examination will now be held on 29 May 2024. The revised admit Cards will be issued for candidates appearing in centres across Delhi,” was published regarding any doubts that anyone had regarding the exams.
The exam, however, will be conducted on the same date in the neighboring cities (including Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Noida) and abroad.
Due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections nearing in the capital, the agency decided to postpone the exam just hours before the commencement due to the lack of manpower for the Lok Sabha elections even though the appropriate centers for the exams had been selected there was a shortage of invigilators that could not be met with before the elections occurring this month as the examination is held on a large scale.
The issue of the delay came as a shock as the students had already been issued their respective admit cards and had prepared for the exams. The testing agency however claims that new admit cards will be issued for the students considering the delay.
The students had been requested to download their hall tickets after the evening of 14th of May so that any change of examination center due to administrative reasons may reflect in the admit card.
